The Metaverse provides an unprecedented opportunity to observe competition in the making and derive insights into the determinants of competition. Embedded in the Metaverse, the MCA wants to give users a uniquely immersive lens on the forces of competition. The MCA studies how economic competition emerges, evolves, and ends.

Method

The MCA method is inductive, empirical, and observational. The MCA produces case studies and advocacy work. The MCA studies, it does not enforce a mandate set in law. In cases of observed competition problems, the MCA brings light to possible remediation strategies. The MCA will also cooperate with natural world competition agencies, sharing knowledge about economic competition in the Metaverse.

The MCA is the world’s first bottom-up antitrust agency. Our decisions about study targets are built around, and implemented through, the consensus of the people of the decentralized metaverse. Our decisions come from the bottom up, not from the top down. We draw our legitimacy from that consensus.
